We met more than ten years ago in South Florida, working long, sweaty days on high-concept hospitality projects at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. One chef and one drink guy, brought together by ambition, great taste, and a borderline unhealthy obsession with getting every detail right. Since then, we have both married incredible Canadian women who are definitely out of our league, settled down up north, and kept the creative spark alive. These days we are building brands, raising kids, and trying to squeeze in a little sleep when we can.

Derek brings the heat in the kitchen with years of fine dining experience and absolutely no patience for anything bland. Jared knows how to shape a mood through bar design, storytelling, and the occasional cocktail that might just make you emotional.

Together, we created Nadare Kakigori, a Japanese shaved ice concept that is light, bold, and perfect for hot summer days. After a run of successful pop-ups and an unforgettable summer at the Distillery District in 2025, we launched our newest venture, Stick Shift Robata. Our goal is simple: to give every guest one of the most flavourful and memorable bites they have ever had.
